To celebrate Independence Day, we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe in Sentosa. This is not helping my new found diet, but the mac & cheese and ribs were worth it. I will be back to my yogurt breakfasts and soup lunches in time. I guess I also need to invest in one of those fitness trackers that everyone loves so much lately.
We finally did a stay-cation in Sentosa and it turned out much better than I expected. We choose the Hard Rock Hotel for a few reasons, but mostly was price and location. They also have a great pool that we tried right after we checked in.
Looks like we are going to have to buy them some new bathing suits soon, these are getting a bit tight.
I really need to go on a diet! New goal is to be 5kg lighter by the time we go on our next holiday – end of August.
Its been a whole year, last year at 18:48 Kaitlin was born followed by Kristin 1 minute later. So today we celebrated our survival, if we can make the 1st year, the rest will be easy. We headed to Sentosa Island to see the aquarium.
Resorts World is a cool place, there is a little bit of everything. What’s really nice is that you are outside, but mostly under cover to avoid any rain.
The aquarium starts with a tunnel through one of the large tanks. If you look closely you can see the girls are amazed and just staring at the ceiling. They loved every minute!
Did you say something about a shark?
This aquarium is huge! They claim the largest viewable tank in the world, and I believe it. The main tank has a 3 story wall that just goes forever.
Here is Kristin trying to grab the fish.
The girls loved being able to get up close to the tanks. Here they are playing footsie against the glass.
The strangest fish here – Its the cuttlefish, delicious but certainly strange looking.
Qumi educated the girls on the different fish – which ones are tasty, which are not.
This cylinder forces the fish to swim around in circles the whole time. The girls kept laughing at the amount of fish coming by.
The next thing to check out in Sentosa is Universal Studios, although we have to decide when the girls will actually appreciate it – maybe in a couple of years.
I have more pictures from today and will post them soon.
Yoshi came for a visit and girls had a lot of fun. We tried to get out as much as possible and have food & drinks.
Sunday breakfast at Food for Thought, at the Botanic Gardens. The eggs are always good and Qumi tried the pancakes this time, they were awesome! The best part is you get to feel good about eating there, as a portion of the money goes to a number of different causes.
A quick call while enjoying the scenery of Sentosa from Vivo City. We had a good snack at Marche and a walk around the mall. Brooks Brothers decided to give up on selling suits in a country where the average temp is 32c (90f), now they focus on casual clothes – I may start shopping there again. 🙂
Nothing better then a quick breakfast at the local bakery, we walked down to Cedele for eggs and pastries.
Some Friday night drinks and dinner down by the Singapore river at Boomerang, the local Australian Pub. Best part about this place is they have Magners Cider and a proper espresso. Best of both worlds, I had the mini wagyu burgers.
Until next time.
